This site is viewed best when monitors are
set to thousands or millions of color.
We are close to having all the Virtual Visits' QTVR movies in both high resolution (1 to 1.3 MB and 6 - 9 minutes at 28.8) movies and low resolution (100 to 350 K and 1 - 2 minutes at 28.8) movies at each node. This allows modem users to download the QTVR movies faster.
The purpose of Virtual Visits is to provide North Carolina's K-12 students and educators, and students and educators in grades four and eight in particular, with a virtual 360 visit of interesting sites around North Carolina. The first area to be covered will be state government sites in Raleigh. Users will be able to tour Raleigh's state government sites and view pictures, maps, text, and QTVR movies of each site. Permission has been granted for the use of all pictures and data for educational purposes. Additional pictures and information as well as sites will be added in the future. We would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions on how Virtual Visits meets your needs and/or could better meet your needs in the future. Please email us your comments.
This site will work on any computer platform as long as the Apple Computer QTVR Plug-in and component software are installed. Click here to go to the area where you can download the QTVR Plug-in and component software you will need on your Windows or Macintosh computer.
