About the Commission

Purpose

School Technology Commission, established pursuant to G.S. 115C 102.5, consists of members who serve 2 year terms. Appointments are made by the Governor, General Assembly, UNC, Community Colleges and the State Superintendent, and the Secretary of Commerce. The Secretary of Health and Human Services or a designee also serves.  The Commission analyzes the current use of technology in the schools, identifies instructional goals that can be met through technology, and proposes state school technology. Activities

The School Technology Commission has regularly scheduled meetings and its members make site visits to schools. The agenda, minutes, and presentations from each meeting may be accessed through the links located on the right.
