3. Click on Research/Reports for the Information Skills Curriculum and challenge participants to find a tool that does not relate to what they teach. They will discover very quickly that the tools can be applied to any middle school content area.

First, briefly demonstrate each of the Student Tools along the left edge of the handheld device. Here are a few tips for demonstrating each tool:

  (Explain that these are reading comprehension sheets that can be printed for students to use as note-taking pages while they are on the Web. Discuss the importance of keeping students focused while using the Web.
