Exploring the Student Tools

  3. Click on Research/Reports for the Information Skills Curriculum and challenge participants to find a tool that does not relate to what they teach. They will discover very quickly that the tools can be applied to any middle school content area.

First, briefly demonstrate each of the Student Tools along the left edge of the handheld device. Here are a few tips for demonstrating each tool:

Instruct the group to "roll over" each of the flags on the mountain, and use one of the flags to initiate a heated debate/discussion with someone seated to their right or left.

Select a flag that represents an area that you would like to improve or change.
