IMPACT II

  • Can IMPACT II School districts apply for additional funding?
    • Yes. Funding opportunities for IMPACT II schools were announced in April 2008.
  • When is the application due in Raleigh?
    • June 6, 2008, by 5:00 PM
  • Can the completed application be mailed to Raleigh?
    • Yes. As long as it arrives in Raleigh by 5:00 PM, exceptions are only made when the delivery service accepts responsibility.
  • What is the formula used for funding?
    • $360 per studented using the ADM from the Best of 2 Principals' Monthly Reports (PMR) for the 2007-2008 academic year.
  • Are schools required to budget 25% of their allocation for professional development?
    • No. At least 10% of the funds must be used for professional development.
  • Is funding provided for personnel?
    • Yes. But it must be taken from the allotment based on ADM. There is not an additional amount for personnel.
  • When will the funds be released?
    • These funds will be available, after State Board of Educaion approval in August pending the release of NCLB funding from the the US Department of Education.
  • What is the timeline for expenditures of year 2 funding?
    • The funding will cover expenditures encumbered from July 1, 2008 through September 30, 2010 and spent by December 31, 2010.
  • Can salaries be encumbered by Septemenber 30, 2010 for October through December?
    • No. Salaries may not be encumbered.
  • Why is the allotment so much less this year than last year?
    • EETT funding has been removed from the President's budget since 2004 but added back by the congress. These allotments are about 50% less than the first 3 years of the program. In the past NCDPI had carry-over funds that supplimented the reduced amount of funding. All carry-over funds were expended by December 31, 2008.
