Suggested Format for Hovercraft Workshops:

  1. Demonstrate a section of the Hovercraft.
  2. Use the information in column 2 ("Teacher Information") to lead a group discussion. (Always strive to link the use of technology to student achievement.) Optional: Print the suggested Web page as a workshop handout.
  3. Set aside time for hands-on exploration. Participants use column 3 to record specific teaching strategies they plan to use as a result of this training. In other words, column 3 is a place to record their "action plans." The teaching strategies in column 3 can be transferred to parts of their professional growth plans or used by principals in technology-related observations. Either way, follow-up can be done in classrooms to monitor the range of technology use and how it impacts student achievement.

Do we identify specific teaching strategies before leaving a workshop?
Does the training result in the use of teaching strategies that work?
Do we follow-up in classrooms by monitoring the frequency of use?
Do we collect various forms of data to show the impact on achievement?
