"In spite of the growth
of the Web to more than 1.4 billion pages, almost half of the nation's
1.34 million teachers indicated in a recent survey that it is difficult
to find Web sites or services to fill specific classroom
needs.
Furthermore, statistics reported by Seattle-based N2H2 show that online school-based activity tends to be focused on about 100 sites, and 50% of user time is spent using search engines to look for resources. That's the equivalent of having 10,000 channels on your TV and always watching the same one." Curriculum Administrator, Sept. 2000 |
