The place on your computer that temporarily saves information. It saves information about sites you have visited and will help the page load faster the next time you visit that site.

Saving pictures, music or other files from a network or the Internet to your own computer

FTP- File Transfer Protocol

Used to transfer files from one computer to another. It is used to upload or download files to web sites.

Hyperlink/ Hypertext

Text on a web page that when clicked will take you to another web page, play a multimedia file or download a file.

ISP Internet Service Provider

A company that charges a fee to provide access to the Internet (Examples: AOL, Mindspring, Interstar)

The rules for good manners on the Internet

Plug In

A program that you download that allows you to view movies, play sounds or games on the Internet
